A visit to Plant Ex Ingredients

Plant Ex is our supplier of colorants, topnote flavours, natural extracts and food protection systems – various natural ingredients, such as olive extracts, rosemary, acerola and buffered vinegar powders, that can be used for the shelf life and food safety of foods.

Plant Ex is located in Avonmouth nearby Bristol, England. Once we arrived at the Plant Ex, after two corona years, we finally would meet again with the Plant Ex team members and enthusiastic director Giles Drewett. After a short tour in the new and inspiring application lab, the creative flavoring lab and super well-equipped coloring lab, we discussed market updates and current developments, the warehouse in Poland where EU customers are supplied from and other current affairs. We got an overview of the different natural extracts such as vinegar, honey, molasses, wine and many others. We also tasted the standardized herbs and spice extracts. Also the organic range was discussed.
This was followed by dinner in a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Bristol.

The next day we had a tour of the renovated production site, guided by Thomas Drewett, Giles’ brother and also the operational director. After this, we had further explanations and lessons about each Plant Ex product-group and learned about all the possibilities of Plant Ex. We thought it was a very instructive and fun supplier visit!
