Tie layers or tie resins are a type of material used to bond two different types of plastics together. They are essential in multi-layer packaging applications, where different layers of plastics need to be bonded together to create a barrier against moisture, oxygen, and other external factors. Tie layers act as an adhesive between two different layers of plastics that would otherwise not adhere well to each other. We offer maleic acid-grafted resins that are able to bond polyethylene (PE) to other materials, such as polyamide (PA) or ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH).
