Restrictions NMP
On 18 April 2018, the European Commission published a restriction (Annex XVII to Reach) for NMP in Regulation (EU) 2018/588. Under the restriction, NMP users must implement measures to ensure that occupational exposure of workers to NMP remains below 14.4 mg/m3 by inhalation and 4.8 mg/kg by dermal contact (all values being 8-hour average exposure limits). All users of NMP must be compliant with the regulation as of 9 May 2020. As an exception, the wire coating industry will have to comply as of 9 May 2024.
